Angela Edmonds had her first solo show of drawings in 1989 at Moor Park Mansion in Hertfordshire.

Her earlier career was predominantly focussed on figurative mixed media drawing, mainly of urban and rural landscapes drawn on site. These were informed by many years of life drawing and tuition from artists such as Miles Richmond who worked alongside David Bomberg. For three years she was commissioned to work on site to create a series of drawings of The Harlequin Shopping Centre (now Intu) during its development.

Later, encouraged by talks with artists such as Carl Plackman and Helen Chadwick she developed a growing interest in making conceptual sculptures using everyday objects from which she also made related large scale drawings and photographic works. Edmonds's sculptures are not about practical skills or techniques but rather about concepts, the unspoken, the surreal in the everyday expressed through a lightness of touch. Small assemblages and photography now form the mainstay of her work. Angela Edmonds is currently writing for Disability Arts Online.

The Artist welcomes opportunities to exhibit her work and for commissions to create new work on a particular concept or for a particular venue. Any questions just ask via the Contact tab. Thanks.
