Statement

 I work a lot from the imagination and in an intuitive way - I'm interested in what symbols and imagery the unconscious throws up. Inspiration comes from many sources; poetry, nature, the human face and figure, memory and emotion, inner worlds, life as a journey, spirituality, humour.

I've done quite a lot of printmaking, some portrait painting and sculpture - but currently am mainly working with mixed media and collage. I like to keep experimenting and discovering new ways of expression.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Biography

Born in Cuffley, Hertfordshire in 1950.

I have mainly worked in the care sector in hospitals, residential homes and daycare.  The last 20 years of my working life were spent in a specialist centre for elderly people with Alzheimers Disease where a large part of my job was to run art sessions and other therapeutic activities

Whilst working full time, thanks to flexible hours, I  completed a BTEC in Professional Development, Fine Art, specialising in printmaking at Kensington and Chelsea College, 2002.

Since retirement in 2011 I have run art sessions at my local Alzheimer's Society daycentre as a volunteer.

I am based in West London where I brought up my daughter.  I have exhibited prints and paintings in many group shows, had a few solo exhibitions and taken part in open studio events.
