Statement
Inspired by found objects, natural forms and colour, Laura uses many different mediums - oils, inks, experimental natural pigments and photography.
Laura is currently working on a series of black and white, pen and ink drawings of fruit and vegetables.
Paintings focus on the abstract patterns in the everyday - figs, pomegranates, red onions, seaside rocks and sand. They are full of colour and character.
Photographs are fom Bolivia and Iceland. The Altiplano has the world's largest salt flat with hexagonal patterns as far as the eye can see. Iceland has inspiring abstract patterns in the ice of the melting glaciers.
Alongside her art practice, Laura has designed for the theatre (productions include Ayckbourn premieres, pantomime, touring shows and film), run her own product design business, and since 2008 has worked as a freelance interior designer specialising in kitchens.
Laura started exhibiting annually through Artists at Home in West London in 2008.
Solo shows during the past year have been at Hille and Zotova Gallery, Amsterdam and currently at Citrus and Spice Restaurant, Chiswick and The Hallam Conference Centre, Oxford Circus.
She also shows regularly at Espacio Gallery, Shoreditch. Other galleries include, Toto Concept Gallery, Clerkenwell, Candid Arts Trust, Islington, The Mernier Gallery, Borough and Seven at Brixton.
Paintings and photographs are in private collections in France, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, USA, Ireland and England.
