Statement

Form is my inspiration. Soft, simple forms with faint throwing lines and dimples impressed into the freshly thrown clay. I use porcelain for its smoothness, whiteness and translucency. Glazes are tactile satin matt on the outside and fluid transparent on the inside, with colour sometimes hidden inside a form.

Biography

Linda Bloomfield trained and worked as a scientist before becoming a potter. She learnt to throw in a potter’s studio as well as at various pottery classes in England, Japan and the USA. She has sold her range of porcelain tableware through Liberty, Harrods and David Mellor. She written several books on glazes and is currently working on a science book for potters.
