Still life paintings and views inspired by travels around the Mediterranean and the English seaside.
I use my large collection of jugs, pots and fabrics to create oil paintings which are full of pattern and colour. Matisse and the Scottish Colourists have always been a source of inspiration, and I often base a still life on the 'feel' of a particular location, including, this year, Malta, which I visited for the first time. Lots of colourful fishing boats!
I graduated in Modern Languages from the University of Edinburgh and in Fine Art from Cheltenham Art School. I am fluent in Spanish, French and Italian and travel regularly with a sketchbook, finding inspiration in France, Italy, Spain and Australasia. In the summer months I garden to a not very impressive standard in my allotment.
