'Our memory is our coherence .... our reason, our feeling, even our action'. ( Luis Buñel)
You need to have some idea of who you have been to know who you are as a person. Autobiographical narratives are a web of our personal experiences, emotions and sensory impressions, with little specific context. We construct a storyboard within a fragile framework of historical fact, and become storytellers through our own personal narrative.
My work comes from the visual experience of the reality I see around me. It could be what I see in front of me, or from a window, specific lines, shape and colour. Every single thing can be subject matter. I want my paintings to be anti-heroic, open and natural just like real living.
