Statement

I was trained at Bath Academy of Art and Gloucestershire College of Art and Design.

However my greatest influence was my Art teacher Ken Laming,who in turn was trained in the school of Oskar Kokoschka. He taught me how to see.

I have exhibited in Wimbledon library through Merton Art Society and Wimbledon Sketch Club and with other artists throughout my working life as a teacher in London.

My growing family featured in my earlier work and interiors, unashamedly influenced by Bonnard and Vuillard. Gradually I moved outside and explored ways of interpreting our landscapes always in situ to capture a scene personal to me

Since moving to Devon I have been moved and motivated by the estuary here in Exmouth and the surrounding landscape in the constantly changing light and endeavour to bear witness to it in my own way.
