The wooden shoe lasts came from a bespoke shoemaker in Cork Street upon the shop's closure.The feet are casts of the artists own feet.

Statement

 

 

Angela Edmonds had her first solo show of drawings in 1989 at Moor Park Mansion in Hertfordshire. 

Her earlier career was predominantly focussed on figurative mixed media drawing, mainly of urban and rural landscapes drawn on site.These were informed by many years of life drawing and tuition from artists such as Miles Richmond who worked alongside David Bomberg. For three years she was commissioned to work on site to create a series of drawings of The Harlequin Shopping Centre (now Intu), during its development. Her prizewinning drawings have been widely exhibited in many Public and Private Galleries.

A growing interest in object based sculptures led to these becoming the focus of her work in addition to related large scale drawings and photographic works. Edmonds's sculptures explore the unspoken, the discord in the everyday, particularly in issues relating to corporeality and health. Recent collections include The Wellcome Trust, London and The Martin Parr Collection, Tate Millbank.
