Andrea Sbra’ Perego was born in Bergamo in 1982. His formation starts at the state high school of arts in Bergamo to the Fine Arts Academy in Brera and his pictorial style is formed by teachers such as Fabio Maria Linari and Gianfranco Bonetti, to whom the artist has always been very close. From 2000 he exhibits his works in numerous collective and personal exhibits, first in the Bergamo area, then in various Italian cities like Milan, La Spezia, Rome and Genoa; fundamental milestone in his artistic research pathway is the year 2006 when he writes “The Fantastic Treatise on the Oroccoccoro Manifesto” a manifest book which will become a source of inspiration for other artists giving way to the Global Occoccoroco artistic Movement, a movement composed mostly of Italian artists who live and work in different parts of the world (Italy, United kingdom, Malaysia, United States and Mexico). He is a polyhedric artist whose experiences vary from painting to sculpture, to photography, to video and performing arts; in 2012 he exhibits with the Yourself Art Group at the Arsenale in Verona, in 2013, again with the Yourself group he exhibits at the BCA Architects and in the collective “Behind the Images” in London. In 2014 he holds a photographic exhibit at the 77 Art Gallery in Milan and curates for the Oroccoccoro Movement a collective exhibit at the London Bridge Hide Gallery .
No concession to tenderness in the paintings of Perego Andrea; through the dominating use of primary colors, with a prevalence for a violent and obsessive blu, the work of Perego proposes a deformation of reality tied to a dramatic and suffered internal world, but seen through the cold eye of a particular judge called upon to measure the absurdity of living. The artist unravels a type of painting stemming from the expressionist matrix, powerful and aggressive, with citations from Van Gogh to Bacon to Munch, with self-mocking insertions in the speech bubble, adding a personal attraction charge for dense pictorial matter, for the doing and undoing of the shapes with an expressive, articulated and crude language, never banal, with contrasting chromatic ranges and compressed or sometimes broken constructions…. the adventure of existence through the artistic research, if possible.

His artistic production has always concentrated on analyzing the tight relationship between man and the environment and to: “narrate the present, because to narrate the present is or should be the task of every artist”; and this is how his works often involve the human figure, either portrayed as the protagonist or seen in his natural interaction with the urban territory; important to this end also the use of geographical maps and of construction materials such as iron, wood and cement. The collocation of the I represented, is in this context “strong” like an urban landscape, which in the case of Perego is the constitutive part of the fittings of the body which is in this way defined in an almost vital relationship with the city. For Perego the work of art is not only the product of the work in a studio, on an easel, but is the living in rhythm with contemporary society and being an active part of it.
