isendyouthis releases new look websites for artists
(isendyouthis.com) 2 November 2011
Artists with isendyouthis can now change their websites to use a new style, produced after careful consideration of feedback
from collectors and curators.
The new website style is available to all isendyouthis subscribers and can easily used simply by selecting the new style from
the choice in Website Editor within Art Manager. Artists can preview how their new site will look or change their current live
website immediately.
Portfolio & Archive
Research shows that visitors can get overwhelmed with too much work immediately on view and may miss the essence of the work.
One of the main changes has been to introduce two categories of work sections: 'portfolio' for current bodies of work, and 'archive'
for previous works and retrospectives. It seems that three sections of work is the optimal number for the portfolio.
Existing website sections are easily moved from 'portfolio' to 'archive' by using Website Editor within Art Manager, so that the
artist can quickly update and promote a new section within their portfolio with just a couple of clicks.
Studio Sales
Users were also found to express frustration in that they were interested in buying work but a lot had already been sold. Hence
the addition of the new 'studio sales' page of the website. It puts all the work you have for sale together in an easily accessed format,
along with current prices and social media sharing buttons, Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
Artist Profile & Videos
Along with the re-design of the previously named 'about' pages, the new Profile lays out the artists profile information providing links
to any other websites as well as links to social media sites. The profile can now also include videos, which can be added from
Vimeo or YouTube .
