Station Electric - Human Rights & Freedom of Speech On the Air
DetailsOn January 30th 2020 Tse Tse Fly Middle East will launch an online exhibition entitled Station Electric - Human Rights & Freedom of Speech On the Air, celebrating the fourth anniversary of the very first Tse Tse Fly Middle East radio programme broadcast on UK arts station Resonance EXTRA on January 30th 2016.
Hosted on the Tse Tse Fly Middle East website, the exhibition will feature contemporary and archived radio programme episodes that champion human rights and freedom of speech. These may be programmes that were made in extreme circumstances, episodes that feature discourse on the key themes of social politics or programmes that approach censorship and civil rights from a unique perspective.
Alongside the radio recordings there will be a gallery of photographs from the Tse Tse Fly Middle East archive.
We are now taking submissions from programme-makers who feel their work covers the above themes, and we are interested in existing one-off episodes that are hosted online e.g. via Soundcloud / Mixcloud etc. For this iteration of the exhibition we are only profiling programmes in English. There are no fees to submit and we will be sharing details of the selected programmes (and programme-makers) across all our social media platforms.
To submit please send Soundcloud, Mixcloud etc. links (no attachments please) and a short statement (100 words max) on why you believe the programme episode needs to be considered to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Tse Tse Fly Middle East is a non-profit arts organisation that works to highlight human rights and freedom of speech issues.
