Art School Sick Daze

Art School Sick Daze is a risograph printed zine and accompanying website, edited by Elena Colman and published by Ladette Space, exploring the experience of studying art whilst disabled.

We are seeking proposals for written or visual work exploring art education in relation to the experience of disability, chronic illness and/or neurodiversity. We know that access to formal art education is a privilege and are particularly interested in submissions by artists who have not attended art school.

This zine is informed by the social model of disability. Shape Arts have posted a great explainer of this here:

Elena thought of the name for this zine after having to take days off from study due to her mental health but understands that many artists may not identify as sick, or need to take days off, but still face barriers within education.
