Criteria

Green & Away operates Europe's only outdoor conference centre and is seeking an Artist in Residence for its 2012 season. We build our centre every summer on a beautiful Worcestershire field and will host a variety of events for voluntary organisations in 2012. The project - a registered charity - runs entirely on volunteers, and this will be the third year we have had an artist in residence. We are seeking your ideas and creativity and will be looking for a long term artwork for the site, plus work with the conference delegates and volunteers. We envisage the works would be mainly made with natural materials available on the 200 acre farm, which includes a river, native woodland, pasture, a former railway line and a wide range of specialist shrubs grown for the garden plant nursery there. The role provides an opportunity for an artist to develop their own ideas in keeping with Green & Away’s environmental ethos and also to participate in the work of the project to set up and run one of the UK’s leading environmental conference centres.
