Criteria

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a sculpture artist to design artwork for Sanctuary Group’s extra care scheme at Mackworth, Derby. The scheme is currently being constructed on site and, when complete, will comprise 98 apartments for the over 55s, 78 of which will be made available for rent and 20 for shared ownership. Sanctuary is looking for an experienced artist to create steel or timber artwork structure(s) which will not only enhance the look of the main foyer/entrance area, but also create a focal point which stimulates interest amongst the scheme’s residents and visitors. The successful artist will need to work closely on the proposals with Sanctuary Group, Derby City Council, Mansell Construction and members of the public, including local schools. They will also need to deliver the finished artwork in line with the contractor’s works programme. Examples of recently completed artworks will be required.
