Discovery and recognition in the online age
Many of us couldn't wait for broadband - the 'fat pipe' that would make online images available to the masses. Millions would see our work and overnight discovery would be assured. Turns out it wasn't that easy. In fact most artists' work gets drowned in an endless deluge of un-edited, un-curated, poorly produced images which vanish into the vast multicoloured wallpaper that is the world wide web.
My part in the isendyouthis project is to bring business and technology skills to bear on this process, and to present an alternative way of using this vast resource to bring discovery, recognition and sales a step closer.
Artists' websites began as an online alternative to the traditional way of hauling your portfolio around disinterested galleries, but has now become pretty much the only way to be found. We don't abandon the artist with a bit of software but are here to help its best use. In fact, we've been asked so many questions over the last five years that I've decided to write the book...
The Invisible Artist (available next year) will explode the myths and misunderstanding of the art market and provide a guide to help the artist steer a course through the many pitfalls to both sales and creative success.
