The Guild’s Gallery, the Courthouse, exhibits and sells a diverse selection of eclectic and beautifully handcrafted items, representing the very best of craftsmanship from the length and breadth of Somerset. Our ethos is to champion and nurture our local designers and host a number of themed exhibitions through out the year to offer inspiring, contemporary, functional and affordable craft to suit all tastes.

Rock, Paper, Scissors - 28th Jan - 25th Feb

We start this year with a theme exploring stone creations and craft formed from paper and scissors! From the soft, fluid contours achieved with carving stone by John Candler; the exquisite craft of bookbinding from Chris Hicks; Jonathan Doney's humorous and witty typography and traditional letter press printing; enchanting textiles woven with paper by Rachel Jennings and scissor craft from Jasmine Eavis who creates charming brooches, jewellery and 2D framed works using recycled textiles and a stunning piece of stitch textiles/scissor work from Trish Burridge - to name but a few of the crafts made for this event.
The first of many exhibitions for 2012 highlighting the superb craftsmanship found on our doorstep and the treasures our local makers create....come and discover intriguing crafts and unique, individual ideas for special gifts too!
To accompany the exhibition we are hosting a number of free, informal, drop-in demonstrations providing a great opportunity to meet a number of our makers and discover the skill and craftsmanship behind their work.
