Ian Bruce and Rose Davey should not work together. As artists, they share little stylistically: Ian Bruce is a humanist painter whose approach to portraiture conveys a sense of wit and optimism. Rose Davey’s paintings are observations of empty contemporary structures; clear geometric shapes abstracted from forms found within modern buildings. Their collaborations should be as inappropriate as Andy Warhol leaving a banana skin on top of one of Donald Judd’s immaculate cubes.
