I take my inspiration from many sources - nature, poetry, Buddhist philosophy, memory, the inner life. I work a lot from the imagination and in an intuitive way with a dash of quirky humour here and there. The human face/figure seems integral to my work in a variety of mediums.

I've moved from printmaking, painting and sculpture to using mainly mixed media and collage currently, although all these things feed into my work. I like to keep experimenting.

I was born in Cuffley, Hertfordshire in 1950 and attended St. Dominic's Priory Convent and Ware Grammar School, followed by a year at Turnford College of Further Education. In 1970 I spent a year living and working in Canada and the USA.

I have mainly worked in the care sector in hospitals, residential homes and daycare.  The last 20 years of my working life were spent in a specialist centre for elderly people with Alzheimers Disease where part of my job was to run art sessions and other therapeutic activities. Since retirement, I now do this on a voluntary basis for my local Alzheimers Society day centre.

Whilst working full time, I have always continued to draw and paint and in 2002, thanks to flexible working hours,I  completed a BTEC in Professional Development, Fine Art, specialising in printmaking at Kensington and Chelsea College.

I am based in West London where I brought up my daughter.  I have exhibited prints and paintings in many group shows, had a few solo exhibitions and taken part in open studio events.
