The inspiration for this collection came from the rich colours of the landscape broken down into a simple palette. Visual realism is corrupted by areas of obscure fragments of disorder. The technical influence of the process comes from my time in screen print during the early days of my training.
THE CONSEQUENCE OF BLUE
Blue put down, not one or two, but more blue. The need to interupt with something bright and insignificant or maybe dull and significant. Whatever, it comes out of the blue.
MAROONED ON CORRAUN
This body of work takes influence from the Corraun peninsular overlooking Achill Island in Co. Mayo. Its unusual rock formations and reddish-maroon tones stand apart from it's neighbouring landscape
