I like drawing and painting people.  People talking, shopping, playing, walking the dog, staring into space.

In artspeak, you could say this was a figurative exploration of psychological narratives revealed in body language, gestures and facial expressions.  Things that my previous career as a journalist trained me to observe.

But really it's just about people.

My current work is centred on drawing - a series of graphite pictures based on family photographs, entitled Fluidity of Memory.  Research in neuroscience shows memories are malleable, subtly altered with each recollection.

Otherwise I enjoy painting in oils and making pen, gouache and watercolour drawings. The more illustrative of these can take a light-hearted look at how we interact with each other and our environment.

At present I live in Sydney, Australia, where the local scenery is a good source of material.  In London subjects came from my former neighbourhood in Chiswick, West London.

I am an exhibiting member of the Mosman Art Society, Sydney.   In London I exhibited locally at Artists at Home and the Bedford Park Summer Exhibition and sold at the Affordable Art Fair and Art London.

I gained a BA Hons Fine Art as a mature student after a career in journalism.  I am also a Volunteer Guide at the Art Gallery of NSW and before leaving the UK in 2013 was a Guide at Tate Modern and Tate Britain.
