Thank you for viewing my travelogue portfolio.  Until recently I have practiced as an amateur artist whilst pursuing a demanding day job in the IT industry from which I retired in July 2018.  Since then I have been able  to devote significantly more time to developing and practising my art.

My training as an artist largely derives from attending evening classes in Glasgow Scotland where I am currently based and my long term art tutor, the proclaimed pastellist Margaret Evans ( ). Additionally I have also received tuition by attending various residential courses including on two occasions the workshops staged in New Mexico as part of the International Association of Pastel Societies biennial convention.

To date I have worked mainly, although not exclusively, in pastel often in combination with other media.  This has been both in part for reasons of convenience (a pastel pallet does not dry out) and in part because I love the immediacy of its application and the ability to invoke mood through subtle changes of texture.

My work features regularly in the quarterly exhibitions staged by the Glasgow Art Club for practicing artists at their premises in Bath Street, Glasgow -
