I have been a visual artist for many years; printmaking is my main focus but I use other processes and media from time to time depending on the work in hand. Particularly interested in the natural world, I increasingly see the need to remind myself and my audience of its intrinsic value.
My work is held in several public and private collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, Oxford University and hospitals in the south west of England. Exhibited in commercial and public galleries across the UK since 1990, my prints can always be seen at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen's gallery in Bovey Tracey, Devon, where I am a member. Twelve years ago I founded a successful open studio event held biennially in the Devon village where I live and work, involving members of the local community. Recently I was commisssioned to make work for a new Primary Care Trust GP surgery in Plymouth. I believe that one way an artist can make a contribution to society is through the healing potential of artwork.
From 2008 - 2010 I studied for an MA in Fine Art. My focus was on oak trees and their ecology giving me the chance to develop my work in a more thoughtful way. As a consequence of this, two rather different kinds of artwork are represented on this website; both speak of who I am and what I do.
I welcome visitors to my home studio.
