My most recent work is sourced from close examination of Dartmoor, both the woodlands and wild open expanses. I am deeply moved by the wild and gentle beauty present in this area. I am fascinated by chaos and order existing simultaneously and the easy harmony that occurs within the natural world between these two forces. My canvas becomes a visual response to the elemental energies and polarities discovered within the land and myself.

I paint Architecture and the Figure, often with a narrative feel. I love the variety and mixture of buildings in any High Street. Different stlyes, colours, textures and histories all cobbled together to make a patchwork of design. Observing people there is a telling moment, comic, peaceful or poignant, which can be suggested by their juxtaposition with the surroundings. My aim is to notice and portray these moments.

Using the colour palette of the east coast landscape, I have specialised in estuary views based around the Humber and East Riding areas. Breaking down the form and colours to represent those on offer by the shifting sand banks and pebbles, I have set out to give an emotional representation of the moods and feelings that come with estuary regions.
